UBC Vancouver Summer Program

We would like to inform you about UBC’s Vancouver Summer Programs, which has expanded significantly in recent years and now encompasses most major disciplines. This is an opportunity for you to enhance your learning experiences with an international study abroad experience at a world-renowned institution, consistently ranked among the top 40 research universities in the world.

The Vancouver Summer Program (VSP) is a four-week academic program offered at the University of British Columbia for cohorts of students from cooperating universities to study at our Vancouver campus. This program provides you the opportunity to take two academic courses in various UBC faculties, while enjoying first-hand experiences in Canadian practices and culture, as well as meeting other international students from around the globe. The 2015 UBC Vancouver Summer Program was well received by 1200 students from over 90 different universities with very good feedbacks.

We are very pleased to invite you to participate in the 2016 Vancouver Summer Program, which runs from June 4 – July 5 2016, and July 16 – August 16 2016.

Currently, the June program offers packages (there are 2 courses per package) in the areas of Applied Science, Architecture, Arts, Business, Education, Forestry, Kinesiology, Medicine, and Science. Our July program has extended packages in Dentistry, Land & Food Systems, Law, and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Each course consists of 39 hours of instruction which is equivalent to 3 credits at UBC. Academic credits may be granted by the students’ home university at its discretion.

Registrations for the June-July program are due on Monday, February 29, 2016 and the July-August program are due Thursday, March 31, 2016. Participants in the Vancouver Summer Program are typically students who have completed at least one year of university prior to joining the program. As the program will be taught in English, participants should be at an appropriate English language level to ensure success.

Summer Program 2016 – University of Almería (Spain)

We are delighted to introduce you to the STUDY ABROAD Summer Program 2016 of the University of Almería (Spain).

This Summer Program offers 4-week intensive academic and professional courses taught by Doctors and Full Professors of proven expertise and experience in the most leading-edge areas of knowledge of University of Almería (Science and Engineering, Business and Social Sciences, Computing, Health Sciences, Education, Modern Languages, Tourism, etc).

This program is a unique opportunity for both undergraduate and postgraduate students from around the world to improve their academic, scientific and professional knowledge and expertise through a unique summer academic immersion experience. Since the beginning (2013), more than 250 students from different international universities have already participated (USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Brazil, Germany, Belgium, UK, Finland, Norway, Netherlands, Austria, etc.).

The summer course packages include accommodation and meals, local transport voucher, cultural tours and trips, among other services (see the attached document). The workload of the courses is 80 hours and they can be recognized by up to 11 ECTS credits at the home university. Please notice that this summer courses are addressed both to Undergraduate and Postgraduate students.

Course Dates: July 4 – 28, 2016 (4 weeks)

What the Study Abroad Summer Program provides:
· Course registration and tuition

· Free access to university facilities (library, computer and study rooms, etc.)
· Buddy system (support from the International Student Association)
· Academic events
· Visits to industries (1 – 3 per course)

Program cost:
· Standard registration: 1,780 EUR
· Early bird registration: 5% discount (1,694 EUR) for courses booked before March 30, 2016.

MUAS – Summer School Operational Excellence

Managing Global Supply Chains the German Way

We would like to bring your attention to MUAS’ Summer School “Operational Excellence – Managing Global Supply Chains the German Way” taking place in Munich from 4th-15th JULY 2016. Details can be found in the attached flyer and presentation, and on the respective homepage.

In the first week of the summer school the focus will lie on the topics of Future Supply Chain Management, the German Way of Operational Excellence and Doing Business in Germany and the visit of companies located in the Munich area.

In the second week a bus tour will take the group to five different leading companies in their business sector in different attractive cities of southern Germany like Augsburg, Ulm or Nuremberg.
The summer school is designed for advanced undergraduate and postgraduate students and will grant 6 ECTS (3 U.S. credits recommended) after oral and written examinations.

FEB UGM International Seminar “Islamic Accounting for Social Welfare”

Islamic Accounting is an alternative accounting approach that based on Quran and Hadist. In this approach ethical values are embedded into accounting system. However, with the rapid improvements of conventional accounting approach, the dissemination of Islamic Accounting seems to be understated. Currently, with the increasing findings on unethical business practices, many views Islamic Accounting as an alternative solution to minimize such unethical business practices. Therefore, in promoting a wider understanding on Islamic accounting, FEB UGM is pleased to conduct an international seminar on “Islamic Accounting for Social Welfare”. In this international seminar, we invite interested academics and students to participate in the event that will be held on the 12th of November 2015.
